I thought I would have done this sooner but life took over, The Primitivo was the most challeging, uplifting experience of my life so far and I've done quite a lot, with more to come hopefully. I have read on forums people questioning and scared to do this trip in winter. I had no trekking or hiking experience but when I read about this route I knew it was for me. I wanted to be challenged!.
I had attached a go pro to my makeshift walking stick and taken images along the route on a timer hence a load of memories I and you can now acces.
To anyone thinking of this route I cannot recommend it enough although I walked alone for 3 days with no-one insight at alberques I started to question and thoughts of giving up were starting. On this day I walked through a tunnel and the name Carlos was written on it I thought of my kitchen porter named Carlos as with the other thousand thoughts going on. Arriving at albergue door open by other peregrino his name was Carlos from Barcelona and we walked the remaining days to Lugo. Where he went of to Madrid and I carried on.
Doing my homework I thiught I would share stats on how this route is growing and also to inspire others to do it any time of the year health allowing I was 44 and carrying kidney stones when I did it.
